Camp Kesem was originally started in Stanford and has since spread across the nation to many universities. Texas A&M's chapter began in 2008 with a dozen kids and has since grown to over 60 kids this pass summer with about 30 counselors.
Camp Kesem is a college student run summer
camp for kids with a parent who has (or has had)
cancer. Everything they do at Camp Kesem focuses
on our goal of giving campers the most fun week
possible, while providing the extra support and
attention they need. In order to raise the 60
thousand dollars it is need to run camp, they host
many fundraisers throughout the year. One of their
biggest fundraisers this fall is our 5k. It is planned
for October 27th at 9:00 am, and will start at lot 50
