Project Sunshine is a non-denomination, non-profit, national organization with a chapter at Texas A&M University which supports and benefits local children of the Brazos County area who have mental and/or physical disabilities.

On October 13th, 2012, Project Sunshine will be hosting the 3rd annual GET FIT CSTAT Fun Run and Fitness Festival in cooperation with the City of College Station and the Mayor's Council on Physical Fitness.  The purpose of this event is to promote a healthy lifestyle to the citizens of College Station and to raise money for the events and trips hosted by Project Sunshine.

All proceeds obtained from GET FIT CSTAT go directly toward funding the events that are hosted for the children of Project Sunshine throughout the year.  Project Sunshine take the children to places such as Waco Zoo, Oil Ranch, Grand Station, and many more.  All these events provide an opportunity for children with special needs to interact and socialize with others outside of school in a positive atmosphere.  They also receive the opportunity to form a special bond with an older mentor who accepts them for who they are.
