Local resident, Melinda Hyer, who lost her 28 year old son to melanoma in 2004 approached Hospice Brazos Valley’s Bereavement Coordinator, Joan Serber about starting a mother’s group for those no longer new to their grief. It was decided to hold the group once a month to share stories with a facilitator and then go out to dinner, Dutch Treat on their own. The goals of the group are to be one of compassion, friendship and support.
