What a nice weekend we had weather-wise here in the Brazos Valley.
It was so nice, I went out to Research Park to play some Disc Golf yesterday.
That's my tee shot on 18. I threw it too far and almost went into the water, thankfully I didn't!
Disc golf, if you haven't played, is like regular golf, you just play with frisbee type discs and you throw into baskets off the ground.
I like to play it, because I find it lest frustrating than regular golf, it's also a heck of a lot cheaper. You pay for the discs (you can play with just one, but they have different kinds for different throws), and that's it.
Generally, playing at courses in the U.S. are free. I believe all the course here in B/CS are free, and there are at least 5 that I've played in town.
It's a nice way to get out for a walk and hang out with friends.
I had plan to throw with a buddy of mine yesterday, but he bailed at the minute. So I went anyway, since it was such a nice day.
I ended up throwing with another guy I met out there.( just like regular golf you can join up with others playing) The guy I ended up playing with was much better than I and knew more than I did about different discs.
I asked him which disc was best for approach shots, and he lent me a disc to play that he thought would work for me.
Sure enough, I had some good throws with it. And what do you know...at the end of the round, he let me KEEP the disc.
That was very cool of him! Thanks again Lucas!
